Can a weak car battery effect a radios peformance?

My car runs normally but for some reason, the back speakers went out and only one works but very faintly. Then the drivers side volume became very faint and only the passenger speakers works now. But here is the kicker, after maybe ten minutes or so, the speaker in front, when they were working, would decrease in volume slowly until they just went out and then nothing came out of them even at full volume. I know the speakers work because i disconnected them and tested them. Any ideas?

Definitively car batteries are crucial in your car audio’s performance. If you dont have a good battery it will not be able to supply enough energy to the audio system and therefore it would not sound as normal. The car audio is fed directly from the battery, even though the cars generator is still working and charging the battery, the amount of energy your stereo uses is more than what the generator can send to the battery. In some cars the generator has some sort of direct contact with the cars energy supply so thats when you go accelerating and is when the volume goes up and down depending on how are the engine revs on your car. Sometimes you can even hear a noise in the speakers that goes up and down along with the engine revs.

Your kickers (i believe you are talking about subs) are consuming a lot of battery energy also. That could be a stronger reason that your stereo faints. I recommend you to buy a new battery and if possible make it one of those Optima batteries. They are cool and are very good in performance.
